The Nunnehi vision continued to act upon Timpoochee’s mind and he found himself unable to move, unable to do anything for himself but relax and be moved.

The dark cloud continued over the mountain top from the southeast and toward the town.

The defenders of the town, grabbed their bows, their blades and set out to meet this clear threat.

But after a long hard fight, they found themselves outnumbered and overwhelmed and began to retreat when out of nowhere a stranger suddenly stood among them, arrayed in full battle regalia and weapons.

“Stand back!” the stranger shouted. “I will force back over the mountains this evil!”

The defenders of the town assumed the stranger brought reinforcements from the friendly towns over the mountains to the northwest.

But with the warrior’s battle cry out from under the very town itself rushed hundreds of other warriors, painted for battle with war whoops bellowing and weapons blazing through the darkness.

Timpoochee knew the warriors in his vision were the Nunnehi warriors, the Immortals.

The spirit defenders immediately pushed back the invading force along the trail, becoming invisible so the enemy could not see them, only hearing their arrows and feeling the slash of their weapons.

The enemy tried to hide behind rocks and trees but the defenders’ arrows snaked around the trees over the rocks and they were chased back over the tallest mountains.
